Rebranding your BIOS boot screen is more or less just a cosmetic thing that makes it looks a bit more “apple’ish”

Requirements:

  • USB Pen, 1gb atleast
  • About 15 mins of your time

1. Creating your usb pen

  1. Create a FreeDOS usb pen via http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
  2. Download the file below, unzip it and put it on your usb pen

File: dpbup.zip

2. Boot on your usb pen

  1. Insert the usb pen, restart the computer and Hit F12
  2. On the boot menu select USB as your boot media
  3. When you get the first freedos menu, just hit enter
  4. On the next menu, select a clean dos, no drivers

3. Add the new splash

  1. In dos, type:
c: [ENTER]
cd dpbup [ENTER]
splash "image.file" [ENTER] (note: replace "image.file" with a image from below)

.. reboot and you are done….

Modifying BIOSes is always dangerous, so do it careful! OSXLatitude is not responsible for damage you did with this guide
